With over 2.3 million of square feet, covering six city blocks on 17 acres, the new Washington Convention Center isn’t just the largest building in Washington DC. It might just be the most accommodating, too. 725,000 square feet of column-free prime exhibit space, 150,000 square feet of meeting space, which includes 70 breakout rooms outfitted with T1 lines and back-end service, 36,000 square feet of registration space for easy check in and a 52,000 square foot ballroom, which can seat 3,000 comfortably for dinner. The new Center will attract three million visitors and generate over one billion dollars annually. Total tonnage of steel used was approximately 41,000.
