SDS/2 allows for various formats to be viewed in the software as references. The most common form of reference model is IFC.

The reference model (IFC) is usually used to determine the location and size of existing material which is to be fitted with new material. This enables detailers to quickly workout the positioning and size of new material that must be added.

IFC’s are also used for determining the location of members i.e., grid and elevation data, in turn speeding up the modeling process.

Auto CAD dwg’s are used as reference drawings for detail sheets and 3D modelling. The design drawings can be super imposed on the modeling window of SDS to enable faster and error-free addition of members. This helps us deliver accurate and precise drawings more efficiently.
